The main purpose of this use case is to validate advanced smart grid supervisory solutions across wide smart metering and measurement infrastructure. The smart sensors installed in the low voltage network are continuously monitoring the energy measurements such as currents, voltages, powers, etc. When a power outage occurs, the meter will save the relevant information to memory and send a last gasp message, before turning off. With the real time information received from the smart meters and sensors, the control center will detect and locate with precision the electric grid fault occuring in the LV power grid. This information will be comunicated in near real time to the control center operator and to the maintenance crew in order to optimize the outage recovery time, therefor reducing the customer interruption time.
